London is home to one of the oldest and most celebrated monarchies in the world. In this Royal London walking tour you’ll be able to see the London sites most associated with the British gentry! From beautiful gardens and memorials to the houses of Parliament and the Changing of the Guard, you’ll see London with over 1,000 years of royal history.
Start your Royal London tour in the lovely neighbourhood of South Kensington where you’ll pass iconic buildings like the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum. Then you’ll stroll through Kensington Gardens where you’ll learn how they were once the exclusive hunting grounds of King Henry VIII. You’ll also see spots frequented by Princess Diana, as this was one of her favourite areas in London.
Next you’ll hop on the tube for a quick ride to Buckingham Palace to see the world-renowned Changing of the Guard that dates back to the 17th century. Instead of standing at the front of the Palace and being mobbed with spectators, you’ll see the procession from the best vantage point near Wellington Barracks where your guide will give you all the insight on the Changing of the Guard.
Cross through lovely St. James’s Park and arrive in the heart of Westminster. Here, your guide will show you all the famous spots and the stories behind them. Hear funny traditions in the Houses of Parliament, where Big Ben (allegedly) got its nickname and see where Kate Middleton arrived on her wedding day to the future King of England.
At the end, for those who want, you can make your way to the top of a nearby building which offers 360-degree views over Westminster and the rest of the city!
