For instance, one of the Rubin’s most popular installations is the Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room, from the Sacred Spaces exhibition.
Visitors are invited to stop by the Rubin’s Café Serai, where they’ll discover a variety of Asian snacks and tea blends to indulge in the fragrances of the Himalayas.
Events and Exhibitions at the Rubin Museum of Art
FAMILY SUNDAYS SUN 1 – 4 PM
Families can drop into the Museum on Sundays between 1:00–4:00 PM for casual art-making and free family-friendly activities. Designed for children ages 3 and up with accompanying adults, the art activities change monthly and connect with the art and ideas of the Himalayas.
The Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room
October 11, 2019 – September 27, 2021
Since it first opened, the Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room has been one of the most popular installations at the Rubin Museum, providing an immersive experience inspired by a traditional shrine. For Museum visitors, this richly detailed, immersive installation provides an oasis for peaceful contemplation at the heart of the Rubin Museum.
