Historic Chicago South Side Tour & 360 Chicago Observation Deck – Overview
Take a Historic Chicago South Side Tour and enter the 360 Chicago Observation Deck to explore all the sights the windy City has to offer.
Starting at the Palmer House Hilton, this tour will take you past all the sights of Chicago’s Historic South Side. You will start by heading south out of the Loop down Michigan Avenue past the Art Institute of Chicago. Furthermore, you will pass the starting point of the historic Route 66, Grant Park and the site of Chess Records.
Your journey will continue along Lake Michigan on South Lake Shore Drive. Travelling on, you will see President Obama’s home, the Robie House, the University of Chicago and Jackson Park, as well as the Museum of Science and Industry.
The return journey will take you through Museum Campus and past Buckingham Fountain. Additionally, your ticket will include entry to the 360 CHICAGO Observation Deck. Therefore offering you the best views of Chicago’s Skyline and Lake Michigan.
Highlights you will see whilst on the Historic Chicago South Side bus tour include:
- Art Institute of Chicago Grant Park (Chicago’s Front Lawn), Chess Records site, Lake Michigan, along South Lake Shore Drive, President Barack Obama’s Home, Robie House (U.S. National Historic Landmark designed by Frank Lloyd Wright), University of Chicago including Rockefeller Memorial Chapel Jackson Park – Location of Chicago’s World Fair of 1893 Museum of Science & Industry, Museum Campus – Solider Field, Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium & Field Museum Buckingham Fountain Neighbourhoods include: Chinatown, Kenwood, Hyde Park & Woodlawn and entry to 360 CHICAGO Observation Deck.
- Transportation to and from 360 Chicago. The tour will finish back at the Palmer House where you will be able to make your own way to 360 Chicago. Please see map for location.
- Entry to TILT at 360 CHICAGO TILT can be purchased for additional charge at 360 CHICAGO.
Please check in at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour. Gray Line Chicago office is located on the northwest corner of Michigan Avenue and Monroe Street. Enter the Grant Park North Parking Garage located on the west side of Michigan Ave. just north of Monroe St. and go down the stairs and the office is on the right. For reference, the closest street address is 30 S. Michigan Avenue. There is an elevator just north of the stairs on Michigan Ave. that will take you right to the office on Parking Level 1.
360 CHICAGO observation deck is open from 9:00 AM to 11:00 pm 365 days a year. Admission to the observation deck ends at 10:30 pm daily.
