If you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to the Closing Ceremony, it’s time to start thinking about the best place to watch Danny Boyle’s extravaganza. With an expected 4 billion people watching the ceremony, it will be quite a feat to match the magic of the Opening Ceremony…though rumour has it that the Spice Girls are expected to perform! Gather your closest friends to cry for the medals lost, celebrate the medals won, and reminisce about London’s most fantastic Games!
House of Nations at the Tower of London
If you’re into history AND the Olympics, then watch the Closing Ceremony at the House of Nations at the Tower of London. This pop-up venue covers the grounds of one of London’s most iconic venues. You can grab a drink or a snack and enjoy the inimitable experience that will likely never happen again (at least in our lifetime!).
Relax on the grass with your friends or make new ones from your homeland (wherever that may be!). Take a picnic or a pint and kick back in Hyde Park to celebrate the end of two weeks of sporting prowess. If your stomach starts rumbling so loud you can’t hear the live screens, head over to Cadbury House where you can take part in chocolate tastings and even win chocolate medals! There will also be a live band performing throughout the night to make it an experience you’ll never forget!
For a quieter, more intimate experience head over to BT London Live’s site at Victoria Park. Not only are there several screens for you to cheer your favourite athletes, there are also paid-for attractions that include a 50m observation tower and a zip wire to test your sense of adventure!
At Trafalgar Square you can watch British history being made at one of London’s most iconic sites. Listen to live music or relax on top of the great lions for a truly British experience.
