Meet Santa at the WWT London Wetland Centre Winter Wonderland
Saturday 8 – Sunday 9 December
Get in the Christmas spirit this December with a visit to the London Wetland Centre’s Winter Wonderland Weekend. You’ll be surrounded by festive cheer as the day’s magic unfurls. For all those dog lovers out there, the chance to meet some energetic and cuddly huskies will stir your excitement. And children 8 or younger can even hop on Santa’s sleigh and enjoy a free ride courtesy of Santa’s furry, four-pawed helpers. As a memento why not have a photograph taken with one of them?
We all know that you can only spend so long outside in the December chill before you’re craving the warm and cosy indoors. Santa’s Grotto is the ideal place to escape from the winter weather and meet Father Christmas himself. Located among the fir trees in a delightful log cabin, Merlin the Magician will keep you entertained while you wait for your chance to see everyone’s favourite bearded hero.
While you’re at the Wetland Centre, take a casual stroll (or a brisk trot if you prefer) around the walkways. Admire the wintry wildlife and the glittering frosty surroundings to really witness the splendour of the festive season. If a walk still hasn’t tired the kids out, the Centre also offers a Christmas arts and crafts session for those who want to embrace their creative side.
After all of this you’re sure to want a bit of relaxation so head to the Water’s Edge Café and indulge in a hot drink and a mince pie before browsing the shop for the ultimate stocking fillers.
