Whether you love nature or just enjoy learning about flowers and plants, the Snowdrop Days at the Chelsea Physic Garden will be a great day out with family and friends.

For nine days, London’s oldest botanical garden opens its doors to visitors to experience its snowdrop extravaganza. Although the days are mainly dedicated to the Snowdrop flower, you’ll have the chance to learn about an array of other plants and flowers too.

Chelsea Physic Garden’s Snowdrop Days allows you to go on a journey of discovery with dozens of fascinating cultivators on the Snowdrops Trail. Alternatively take a wander through the wood with drifts of 10,000 freshly planted snowdrops and for a closer inspection of the diversity on display head to the Snowdrops Theatre.

There are also expert talks, tours and workshops throughout the nine days, which run from Saturday 2nd of February to Sunday 10th of February 2013. The World of Snowdrops lecture with Joe Sharman of Monksilver Nursery will inform you on everything you need to know about the snowdrops or if you want to be more creative then try painting Snowdrops with botanical artist Gillian Barlow.

Discover the world of herbal medicine in the lecture; remedies from your garden given by Medical Herbalist Lara Bernays. Lara will explore the traditions of plant medicines and share her favourite spring recipes including how to make your own spring tonic.

Volunteers will be on hand to give tours around the Chelsea Physic Garden, which has a unique living collection of 5,000 edible, medicinal, useful and historic plants. And don’t forget to stop off for a relaxing tea break at the Tangerine Dream Café, which provides a tranquil oasis for a bite to eat.
