October half term 2015: Halloween events

It’s October and although it might be turning a bit gloomy outside, there’s still plenty to enjoy this coming month. Both the half term holiday and Halloween are sure to bring some spooky fun to the kids’ break! Paradise Wildlife Park Howl-o-ween (Broxbourne, Hertfordshire)


This year’s Halloween event at Paradise Wildlife Park is set to be its biggest ever. They promise it will be scarily brilliant, offering free wolf masks on entry, animal spooktacular shows, bat encounters and much more!

There’s also plenty of prizes to be won in the big howl-o-ween hunt. You can still visit the park during the day of course, and with over 400 animals to discover it’s no wonder visitors keep coming back to Paradise year after year.

So what’s there to see? It’s the only place in the UK that’s home to all five big cats – Jaguars, Leopards, Snow Leopards, Tigers & Lions. Explore the Tropical Rainforest and observe a range of different monkey species, or visit the Small Mammal enclosure to come face to face with the park’s famous Red Pandas.

All in all, it’s a great family day out with plenty to see and do, at Paradise Wildlife Park you’ll definitely leave with a smile on your face!

Ripley’s London – Halloween Week (Picadilly Circus, London)


Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! London will also be holding their annual Halloween event featuring plenty of spine-tingling  activities throughout the day.

Running through the half term break, kids can enjoy the Haunted Halloween Trail, Freaky fun face painting, Spooky storytelling and over 700 more captivating exhibits!

Ripley’s London is located in the heart of London at Picadilly Circus, based around the exploits of famous explorer Robert Ripley, this attraction is all about the weird and wonderful. Exhibits include a Mirror Maze, an Impossible LaseRace, a Graffiti Wall and much more.

Muncaster Castle Halloween at Muncaster (Ravenglass, Cumbria)

Did you know that Muncaster Castle is known as one of Britain’s most haunted castles? So where better to celebrate Halloween this October than the castle itself! Fancy dress is highly encouraged, so make sure you come along in your most scariest of attire.

The famous fireworks display will take place on the first night this year (Sunday 25th October), and is included in your general admission ticket.

Join the crooked Miss Piggott on a frightful journey in the depths of San Francisco. It’s Halloween so October will be extra scary this month – so be prepared, its not for the faint of heart!

Ripley’s New York  – The Best Halloween Party in NYC  (Times Square, NYC)


Ripley’s New York outfit is also holding a Halloween extravaganza, the evening will include haunting exhibits, a live dj and plenty of food and drink to go around! You’ll also be able to enjoy all of the other crazy interactive exhibits on display at Ripley’s like the incredible vortex tunnel, pranks of nature and more.
