The Golden Hinde is one of the most famous ships to ever set sail on the seven seas, and the Golden Hinde London is a perfect replica of the Sir Francis Drake ship that circuited the globe in the 16th Century on its voyages of discovery.

In fact, the Sir Francis Drake ship of the line circumnavigated the globe between 1577 and 1580, returning to Blighty with a cargo of exotic goods and tales of adventure in the world's most far-flung lands and oceans.

The Golden Hinde ship now rests in the peaceful St. Mary Overie Dock on London's Bankside, right by Old Father Thames.

Clambering about its timber decks gives a fascinating insight into what it must have been like to be a member of the Tudor navy, when warships were called into action on a regular basis against the enemies of England and Wales.

Interpreters in Tudor-style clothing expertly re-create what life on the Golden Hinde may have been like, thanks to a series of Pirate Fun and Tudor Family Days, as well as events such as Children’s Maritime Workshops and Tudor Evenings.

As well as these bookable special events, there are also regular guided tours of the ship and stories of Tudor voyages, and a hearty welcome for one and all!
