Here you will be able to explore the rich history from the very beginning in 1664, when the Royal Marines first began, spanning countless historical events to the present day. Exhibiting The Making of the Royal Marines Commando, you will have the chance to follow in the footsteps of the marines themselves, past and present, experiencing the rigorous training regimes that they endured. The Royal Marine Museum offers experiences on deployments throughout their history with exhibitions and displays that reflect various conflicts, such as World War 2, as well as the current war in Afghanistan among others.
